Educators & Students - Educational Resources

The internet is teeming with wonderful educational resources regarding water. In fact, there are so many it can be difficult to know where to begin! So, we’ve compiled a list of online educational resources to get you started.

USGS Water Science School- Learn the basics of water science through pictures, data, and interactive programs. This resource contains information on a host of different subjects including the water cycle, surface water, groundwater, water quality, etc.
US EPA Water Science and Technology- This site has educational resources and programs for all ages (even adults!). The resources are organized by subject matter and grade level. Topics covered include source water protection, water quality, watershed science, and wetlands.
Project Wet- This site contains age appropriate online games for elementary and middle school students. They’ll have so much fun they won’t even realize they’re learning!
National Association of Conservation Districts-This site includes educational materials for grades K-8 as well as games and student booklets.
West Virginia Conservation Agency- Learn by getting involved in statewide events, contests and programs at your school.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration- This site allows students to learn about water as part of weather systems, lakes, ocean currents, etc.
GLOBE Teacher's Guide- Learn how to generate your own meaningful scientific investigations with protocols and activities using the GLOBE Teacher's Guide.
